DEAR FRIENDS & SUPPORTERS
While preparing for joyous holiday celebrations with your friends and family, it’s important to stop and reflect on the joy and blessings in your own life while also being aware that not everyone is so fortunate. That is why we ask that you don’t let this season of joy and giving pass without making a year-end donation to Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem and our vision that no child in Pickens County goes without the love, care, and necessities to have a safe, happy, and healthy childhood while a part of the Guardian ad Litem program. What better way to celebrate Christmas than by sharing what you have with the maltreated children of your community?
Our approach of "one child at a time" not only has a powerful impact on the children that we work with directly, but also on the larger community as a whole by the sheer number of children we provide for. Annually Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem provides a number of greatly needed services to the neglected and abused children of Pickens County – computers, medical equipment, mentoring, summer camps, bedding and so much more with annual expenses being over $50,000. Our annual Heart & Sole Back to School Day this year provided over 200 children in grades K5-12 with back to school clothing and shoes. The cost to provide clothing the past two years for all of the eligible children in grades K5-12 has been $25,000 annually.
We are completely reliant on charitable donations in order to be able to continue to provide these services to the maltreated children of our community. Despite our efforts, the need exceeds our capabilities still. Please help us continue to provide and to expand our efforts into the future to more fully address the overwhelming need of the abused and neglected children of Pickens County. Our donation process has been simplified to allow supporters to donate online at www.friendspcgal.org or by mailing the online pledge card to PO Box 1692, Easley, SC 29641. Any amount you can share will be greatly appreciated and put to good use right here at home for the neglected and abused children of Pickens County. We wish you happy holidays and a joyful 2017 – and thank you in advance for your support!
